Preventive Health SA

This artwork is a visual story of connection, healing, and transformation — capturing Preventive Health SA’s commitment to reconciliation and the promotion of strong, culturally informed health practices for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. At the heart of the composition is a central meeting place, layered with vibrant blues, ochres, and circular motifs. It represents the coming together of communities, health professionals, and knowledge systems. The radiating patterns echo ripples of shared learning, cultural respect, and the preventive actions that create long-term wellbeing.

Flowing pathways and spirals symbolise movement and ongoing journeys — both in health and in reconciliation. They reflect the idea that progress comes through continuous dialogue, understanding, and culturally safe engagement. The dotted areas and branching designs signify the diversity of voices, experiences, and Country, while the green sections evoke growth, nature, and renewal — essential aspects of holistic health.

Smaller interconnected shapes speak to innovation, data, and systems of care working alongside cultural knowledge. Together, they represent how Preventive Health SA is listening, learning, and embedding First Nations perspectives into every layer of their work.

This piece reminds us that culture is central to health — and that real change happens when we walk together, grounded in truth, with a shared commitment to closing the gap and empowering future generations.
