Office of Recreation, Sport & Racing

This artwork tells the story of the reconciliation journey of Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing, from the Reflect stage into the Innovate stage.

At the centre of the piece, you will find a Kaurna Shield, protecting the seven strategies that have been built by the organisation in the following areas throughout the Reflect stage; APY Lands Women in Sport, Leadership and Representation, Talent Identification, New SASI Building, SASI Awards, Traineeships and Grant Agreements.

These seven strategies are represented as circles that are protected in pillars of the business and organisation community. The outer areas represent the Australian landscape, Communities and the connection between the communication and groups of influence, who hold strong from the driving forces behind them.

At the very edges of the artwork, you will see the totem of the boomerang, paying homage to the Reflect RAP and the power of the four organisational strategies, and having people at the heart of the business. The background is a reference to the stars and night sky, as a reference to The Dreaming; the foundation of learning and knowledge and guidance that our First Nation’s Culture provides.
